about

Hailing from the weird murder hamlet of Adelaide, Bad Dreems (Ben Marwe - vocals/guitar, Alex Cameron - guitar, James Bartold - bass, Miles Wilson - drums) entered the world in January with the nostalgic downer pop of 'Chills', an ode to a desolate Adelaide summer. Attracting blogosphere props from Weekly Tape Deck, Pop Headwound and Sound Bites, Bad Dreems were named as one of RRR's Class of 2012 and were triple J Unearthed feature artists in April. Their raw, raucous live show was rewarded with support slots for US party punks Wavves and Sydney dream popsters Sures, and they recently opened Adelaide's inaugural Spin Off Festival alongside Lana Del Rey and Band Of Skulls. In August, they will be accompanying Children Collide on their 22-date Monument tour around Australia.

Sticking to a formula that works, Bad Dreems recently bunkered down in the studio again with acclaimed engineer Jack Farley (Twerps, Beaches, Love of Diagrams) to record the remainder of their debut EP.

The first product of this session is 'Too Old', a hazy paean to a doomed relationship. "I got a new job/I'm wondering when the hell I'll ever see your face again" drawls Marwe around the glistening treble of Cameron's guitar. "Too old for someone like you/Too old for anything new."

'Too Old' is out now via triple j Unearthed and will appear on Bad Dreems' debut 7"/EP bundle due out in late September. In the meantime the band will be playing in every corner of the country this August and September.

lyrics

i got a new job, i'm wondering when the hell I'll ever see your face again. got on that bus and i rode for hours, promise that i'll never see your face again. i don't know what's going on, but yeah, i know there's something wrong with you. too old for someone like you. too old for anything new. out of my mind, stumbling. sleep for hours, nothing gets done. i go out and i drive around, nothing makes sense. nothing ever found. i don't know what's going on, but yeah, i know there's something wrong. too old for someone like you. too old for anything new.
